Encinitas Grand Prix to Announce Official 2009 Event Dates
In the Spring of 2009, downtown Encinitas will come alive with the excitement of world-class bicycle racing, the Encinitas Grand Prix. Set to taking place on the historic 101 Coast Highway in the heart of downtown Encinitas, the inaugural Encinitas Grand Prix will showcase Professional cycling like its never been seen in Encinitas before, and will be supported by amateur races and a host of community events. Racing action will begin mid-day along with all the event festivities, which includes a Beer Garden, Kid's Fun Zone, Lifestyles Expo and live entertainment, and conclude with a perfect sunset. Ride to the Encinitas Grand Prix and take advantage of the FREE bike valet. After carefully considering regional and national racing schedules, city, state and national agendas the organizers at the Encinitas Grand Prix will make their final date selection. Encinitas Grand Prix Helps Raise Awareness for Children with Physical Deformities
Encinitas, CA - Fresh Start Surgical Gifts and the Encinitas Grand Prix join forces to help provide fresh starts for disadvantaged children with physical deformities. As a charity partner of the Encinitas Grand Prix, several events throughout the weekend will benefit Fresh Start Surgical Gifts. Fresh Start is a local nonprofit organization that provides free reconstructive surgeries to disadvantaged children with physical deformities. Since incorporation in 1991, Fresh Start has provided services to over 4,000 children from the U.S. and abroad. "Fresh Start is committed to seeing that every child with a physical deformity is given the opportunity to have a positive self-image, especially here at home in San Diego County. Partnering with the Encinitas Grand Prix introduces Fresh Start's mission to areas of the community that may not know about what we do, helping to provide local patient outreach and awareness for children with physical deformities." -Shari Brasher, Fresh Start CEO & Executive Director About Fresh Start Fresh Start is a 501(c)3 nonprofit based in Carlsbad, California, that provides free reconstructive surgery, laser treatments, speech therapy and dental procedures for disadvantaged children with physical deformities. All services are provided in San Diego by a team of more than 600 local volunteers. Since incorporation in 1991, Fresh Start has provided over $15,000,000 worth of free medical services.
